Global Citizen Names Influential as Its Creator Partner
Global Citizen has named Influential (Publicis) as its global creator partner. Their network has grown from 5 to 18 million creators. The first activation is the festival in New York.

Global Citizen has appointed Influential, a creator marketing agency that is part of Publicis, as its global partner for working with bloggers. The companies announced the news on Friday.
The decision reflects a shift in strategy. Global Citizen is an anti-poverty nonprofit best known for its annual star-studded festival in New York's Central Park. Now it is betting on digital creators to reach audiences that celebrity concerts no longer reliably draw.
A large network, rapid growth
Influential has been operating since 2013. In 2024, it was acquired by the French group Publicis. The agency's network of creators, who joined on a voluntary basis, has grown from roughly 5 million creators at the time of the deal to around 18 million today, the company says.
The scale of the network is a key selling point for the nonprofit sector. Charities increasingly face the fact that traditional celebrity-driven media formats are losing reach. Creators, meanwhile, offer direct access to young audiences on social platforms.
First activation — the Central Park festival
The first major project of the partnership will be the Global Citizen Festival, taking place on Saturday. Around 20 creators, including the duo Ling and Lam, will publish content from the event grounds. Chris Detert, senior director of communications at Influential, confirmed the details.
The approach looks pragmatic. Instead of betting solely on stage headliners, the organization will get dozens of entry points into social media feeds — through creators whose followers trust them more than traditional media personalities.
For Publicis, the deal strengthens Influential's position in a segment where influence is measured not by TV reach but by the engagement of niche communities. Given the "global partnership" format, the collaboration between the parties is not expected to end with a single festival, but the companies have not yet disclosed details of future campaigns.
