In East Kazakhstan Region, a driver and a passenger were brought to administrative liability after filming a commercial for a local store, police reported.

While the car was moving, the passenger leaned out through the sunroof. A video of the traffic violation was later published on social media — and it was this publication that led to the investigation.

Police identified the participants of the shoot. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver for violating passenger transportation rules. The passenger, who was outside the passenger compartment of a moving vehicle, was held liable for violating traffic rules.

Police reminded that such actions endanger the safety of road users and can result in administrative liability.

The fine for such a maneuver is set out in the Administrative Offenses Code: transporting a passenger outside the passenger compartment, as well as leaning out of windows or sunroofs while driving, is punishable by a fine of 10 MRP — 43,250 tenge in 2026.

A similar case in Semey is telling. There, a 22-year-old Toyota RAV4 driver and her 24-year-old passenger were held liable after riding on the car's hood.

For marketing teams, this story serves as a direct warning. Creativity for the sake of content does not cancel traffic rules, and ad shoots on public roads that violate the rules result not in viral reach, but in protocols and fines. Sharing the video on social media makes it easier for police to identify those involved — in these cases, the driver and passenger were identified precisely through the published videos.
