Yandex Advertising postponed its October 15 conference due to drone attacks
Yandex Advertising postponed its October 15 conference due to drone attacks on its infrastructure. Impressions are running, but the interfaces of Direct, YAN and Metrika are partially unavailable.

Yandex Advertising has postponed the conference scheduled for October 15 at VTB Arena and in an online format. The reason was several drone attacks on Yandex's infrastructure over the past few days. A new date and format will be announced separately.
Why was the conference postponed?
The event was supposed to take place both offline — at VTB Arena — and online. The company explained the decision by a shift in priorities: the teams are focused on restoring the operation of advertising services. The Yandex Advertising press service told AdIndex:
"We had been preparing for it for a long time and were also really looking forward to meeting you. But right now we believe it is right to focus the efforts of all our teams on your businesses — both for advertisers and for partners."
For advertisers, this means a shift in announcement plans. Yandex's conferences traditionally serve as a platform for presenting new advertising products. In short: the event was postponed indefinitely because the company's resources are being directed at restoring the infrastructure.
What is happening with advertising on the platform?
Impressions continue. The press service emphasizes: advertising is working, driving audiences, clicks, leads and sales. However, from the weekend until now, some functions have been unavailable. The list of problems:
- users cannot log into the interfaces of some products;
- campaigns cannot be managed;
- up-to-date statistics cannot be viewed.
Key ecosystem products have been affected. Engineers, managers and other teams are working around the clock to restore access to the interfaces:
- Direct (contextual advertising system);
- Business;
- Metrika (web analytics service);
- YAN (Yandex Advertising Network);
- Adfox;
- AppMetrica and other products.
In other words, campaigns are spending budgets and driving traffic, but advertisers cannot yet manage them or evaluate results in real time.
What's next?
No restoration timeline has been given. Yandex Advertising promises to inform about changes as opportunities allow. The company's statement says:
"We will share updates as soon as we can. Thank you for being with us. We remain in touch."
Advertisers and agencies are left to monitor Yandex's official channels and allow extra time for managing campaigns in Direct. The October 15 conference date has been canceled; there is no replacement yet.
