Google Launches Call for Me: Gemini Calls Companies on the User's Behalf
Google has launched the Call for Me feature: Gemini calls companies on behalf of Pixel 11 owners in the US and shares personal data approved by the user. The user can take over at any moment.

Google has allowed its artificial intelligence, Gemini, to make calls to third-party companies on the user's behalf. The new feature is called Call for Me, TechCrunch reports, citing Google.
At launch, Call for Me is available to a limited audience: only owners of Pixel 11 smartphones in the US who have a paid Gemini subscription. To make calls, the neural network uses the user's personal phone number. The person retains control over the process: they can track the course of the conversation and take over at any moment.
The key feature of the innovation is the broad range of the neural network's authority. Gemini is granted the right to share the user's personal data during a call. The company emphasizes that this applies only to information the user has approved in advance.
Developers say the AI can handle practical, everyday tasks. Examples include calling a store to check product availability, booking a table at a restaurant, or rescheduling a planned appointment to another date.
Google has long been working on AI-driven calling features. However, this is the first time the company has expanded the assistant's authority this widely — up to handling the subscriber's personal data in conversations with third parties.
Context for the Advertising Market
The launch of Call for Me continues Google's strategy of integrating Gemini into business tools. Earlier, the company announced Ask Ad Manager, an assistant based on the same neural network. It helps marketers gain deeper analytical insights into advertising campaigns and make informed decisions faster.
For brands and companies that work with end customers over the phone, the arrival of Call for Me changes the picture of inbound inquiries: more and more often, the line will be answered not by a human but by an AI assistant acting on their behalf and passing along verified personal data. Retail chains, restaurants, and service companies operating in the US will be among the first to encounter this new format of interaction.
For now, the feature is limited to the American market and Google's flagship device, but as Gemini subscriptions spread, the geographic coverage and list of supported devices will, judging by the logic of the company's previous launches, expand.
