Omnicom to cut 15,000 employees by the end of 2026

Omnicom will cut 15,000 employees by the end of 2026 — from 120,000 to 105,000. The reason is restructuring following the merger with IPG and a goal of saving $1.5 billion.

Omnicom plans to reduce its headcount by roughly 15,000 people by the end of 2026 — from 120,000 to 105,000. This was announced by the holding's Chief Financial Officer Philip Angelastro at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology conference, MediaWeek reports.

This does not only involve layoffs. Some jobs will disappear as part of the integration with Interpublic Group (IPG), while certain functions will be outsourced and moved to offshore centers. The headcount will also shrink due to the sale of certain businesses.

The cuts are a direct consequence of the merger between Omnicom and IPG. The holding expects to save $1.5 billion on the deal. The changes primarily affect administrative units and regional leadership, where duplicate functions emerged after the merger. According to Angelastro, employees who work directly with clients have been largely unaffected by the cuts.

The restructuring began shortly after the IPG deal closed in November 2025. Already in December, plans became known to eliminate more than 4,000 jobs worldwide. In parallel, Omnicom is consolidating management structures and shutting down individual agency brands, including DDB, FCB and MullenLowe. Due to the integration, the holding's advertising revenue declined in the second quarter.

Against this backdrop, Omnicom lost PepsiCo's global media account — it went to Publicis Groupe. Angelastro called the loss of the partner "a disappointment." The company is analyzing the reasons for the loss. At the same time, Omnicom does not yet expect the account's departure to have a noticeable impact on the group's financial results in 2027.
