Pinterest Grew Revenue by 12% and Set a New Audience Record
Pinterest grew revenue by 12% — to nearly $1.2 billion in the third quarter of 2026. Ad impressions rose 17%, and the audience reached a record 661 million users.

Pinterest's revenue in the third quarter of 2026 rose 12% year over year, reaching nearly $1.2 billion. The number of ad impressions over the same period increased by 17%. These figures come from the company's quarterly report.
"We generate revenue from displaying ads on our website, in our mobile app, and on Connected TV platforms," Pinterest states in the report.
What drove the revenue growth?
The main contribution came from ad campaigns focused on building interest in products and services — the consideration category in the platform's terminology. A smaller contribution came from awareness campaigns.
The geographic picture was uneven:
- United States and Canada — up 14%, to $894.2 million;
- countries outside North America and Europe — up 24%, to $87.1 million;
- Europe — virtually unchanged, at $192.6 million.
In the report, the company attributes the lack of growth in Europe to declining demand for advertising. Bottom line: North America and emerging markets drove revenue, while Europe is still lagging behind.
What advertising tools is the platform developing?
Pinterest continues to invest in AI-based advertising technology. According to MediaPost, the platform uses the Pinterest Intelligence system — it analyzes user actions and helps select content and ads.
Over 2026, the company also expanded programmatic ad buying (automatic purchasing of impressions through exchanges). Advertisers gained programmatic access to video inventory and display ads in all regions where Pinterest operates.
A new format, Visual Search Ads, was also introduced. It allows ads to be placed in visual search results and in the expanded view of pins.
A separate set of changes concerns how brands work with creators. Advertisers can now directly promote relevant creator posts. Previously, the process was more complicated: the creator had to tag a brand's products and wait for the partnership to be approved.
What is happening with the audience?
Pinterest's monthly active audience reached 661 million users. The figure grew 10% year over year, and by 21 million over the quarter.
The company has now set a new audience record for 13 consecutive quarters. Generation Z accounts for 57% of the platform's users.
The main growth came from countries outside North America and Europe: up 17 million users over the quarter. In Europe, Pinterest recorded a recovery in user growth after a period of stagnation and audience decline.
The diagnosis is clear: the platform is growing on young users and emerging markets, and this growth is monetized so far through the US, Canada, and the rest of the world — but not through Europe.
