The TV channel «Armiya TV» has suspended operations due to Russian shelling. The channel's press service announced this on its Facebook page. No timeline for resuming broadcasts has been given.

The channel continues to operate on YouTube and social media. Broadcast transmissions have been stopped.

The reason for the decision is a series of strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure that has been disabling data centers and internet provider networks since September 23. For the media industry and the telecom market, the consequences have already become systemic.

Timeline of Infrastructure Strikes

On September 23, as a result of a Russian attack, one of Kyiv's data centers was damaged, housing core equipment of the internet provider UTELS. The attack also caused disruptions in the operation of the cloud service Fex.net. On the same day, according to available data, internet problems were observed in approximately 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region.

On September 24, following an attack on Kyiv, the providers «Domonet», Kievnet, and Faust reported infrastructure damage and internet outages. On the same day, a data center hosting the infrastructure of hosting provider MiroHost was destroyed. The company has not yet been able to give a timeline for restoring its operations.

On September 25, as a result of a Russian attack, a data center belonging to the company «Datagroup» was damaged.

Government Response

During a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, decisions were made to protect data centers and other critical communications infrastructure facilities. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The content of the decisions taken has not been disclosed. For data center operators and hosting providers, the issue of physical protection of their facilities is now becoming a priority: over three days, the strikes have disabled or damaged at least four infrastructure facilities — UTELS, MiroHost, «Datagroup», and the unspecified cloud service Fex.net.

Impact on the Media Sector

The TV channel «Novyny.LIVE» temporarily suspended broadcasts due to disruptions in the operation of some services following the Russian attack on Kyiv's infrastructure. Thus, «Armiya TV» became the second TV channel to halt broadcasting during the current wave of strikes.

Both channels have maintained their presence in digital environments — YouTube and social media. This mode of operation is becoming a de facto backup broadcasting model for Ukrainian media: while broadcast infrastructure remains vulnerable, content distribution is shifting to online platforms.

For the advertising market, the halt of broadcast transmissions by two channels means a reduction in TV inventory. Advertisers who had planned placements on the broadcasts of «Armiya TV» and «Novyny.LIVE» are forced to revise their media plans in favor of digital channels, where both brands continue to operate.

MiroHost, the hosting provider whose data center was destroyed, has not given a timeline for restoration. This creates risks for thousands of websites and services hosted on its infrastructure. The «Datagroup» data center is damaged — the scale of service disruption is being clarified.

The situation remains dynamic. The key questions for the market are the timeline for restoring the capacity of MiroHost and «Datagroup», as well as the specific measures to protect communications infrastructure adopted at the Staff meeting. As new information becomes available, «Eurasia Marketing» will continue to monitor developments.
