MAX added 58.4 thousand public channels in October — to 582.8 thousand. Subscriptions reached 388.5 million, of which 34.5 million came in a single month. Data from MyDash.

The MAX messenger grew its base of public channels by 58.4 thousand in the single month of October — to 582.8 thousand. These figures were released by MyDash, a service for analytics of channels and audiences on MAX, in its monthly summary.
The total number of channel subscriptions reached 388.5 million. Of these, more than 34.5 million came in October. Publishing activity also grew: over the month, authors posted 22.5 million new posts in public channels.
Which Categories Are Growing the Fastest?
By number of new channels, the top 5 categories in October look like this:
- Other.
- Blogs.
- Food and Cooking.
- Sales.
- News and Media.
Analysts attribute the lead of the "Other" category to a specific event: the messenger opened access to creating public channels for regular users. This removed the barrier to entry, and a significant portion of new channels did not fall into specialized categories.
Where Do Subscribers and Content Concentrate?
Other categories lead in subscriber growth. The top 5 categories by audience growth:
- News and Media.
- Blogs.
- Education.
- Other.
- Sales.
The same categories — up to a reshuffle — also dominate in the number of new posts: News and Media, Blogs, Education, Other, Sales. In terms of total subscriber volume, the picture is nearly the same, but "Politics" enters the top five instead of "Sales," while "Food and Cooking" rounds out the list:
- News and Media.
- Blogs.
- Education.
- Politics.
- Food and Cooking.
The geography of publications concentrates in southern and central regions. The top 5 by number of posts in October:
- Krasnodar Krai.
- Moscow.
- Rostov Oblast.
- Moscow Oblast.
- Republic of Tatarstan.
What Does This Mean for the Market?
The key takeaway of the month is the opening of public channel creation to all users. It is this step that MyDash names as the reason for the surge of new channels in the unclassified "Other" category.
At the same time, the data shows where audience attention is shifting: news channels and blogs hold the lead across three metrics at once — subscriber growth, number of posts, and total audience. For brands and media, this is a signal about which formats within MAX are worth building content distribution on.
Simply put: in October alone, MAX added a tenth of its entire channel base, while audience and content volume continue to grow on news and blogs.
