57% of Russians believe their employer is cutting costs at their expense
An Anketolog survey (2,000 participants): 57% of Russians believe their employer is cutting costs at their expense, 33% report worsening working conditions, and 60% report declining motivation.

Nearly 60% of working Russians are convinced that their current employer is cutting costs at the expense of employees. This conclusion was reached by the Anketolog service following a survey of 2,000 people.
A third of respondents — 33% — said that their working conditions have worsened over the past couple of years. Only 16% of participants noted an improvement.
Out-of-pocket expenses have become the working norm for many. 55% of Russians spent their own money at least once over the past year on things or services needed for work. At the same time, 61% of those who made such expenses received no compensation from their employer.
Employers' cost-cutting directly undermines staff trust and motivation. 45% of respondents admitted that they have come to trust management less. Another 60% reported a decline in motivation to work. 43% each said they had begun to care less about the results of their work and had started thinking about leaving the company.
At the same time, employees are not closed to dialogue. "Most employees are willing to meet the employer halfway if the cost-cutting is temporary," the study's authors noted.
For comparison: in an earlier survey, Russians described their dream employer. Residents of the country most often characterize an ideal employer by high salary (71%), a good benefits package (69%), and company stability (60%).
The gap between these expectations and actual corporate practice is a signal for HR and internal communications: without transparent explanations of the reasons behind cost-cutting, businesses risk losing the engagement of nearly half their staff.
